Big Ten Tourny

JANUARY 28 - Sophomore Michael Lainhart (106 lbs) capped a solid performance for the Flying Dutchmen at the annual Big Ten Tournament held in Albany.  Lainhart defeated defending Section II champion Shaun Bermann of Albany 7 - 4 in the semi-finals, on his way to a second place finish to John Stramiello of section 9's Pine Bush.  Also placing for the Dutchmen were Josh Logiudice, who finished third at 99 lbs, and John Stuto, who finished fifth.  Guilderland finished sixth as at team, while New Rochelle took home first. 
This meet wrapped up the regular season for the Dutchmen - who will prepare for the Class A Tournament at Colonie High School this weekend. 

Mt Anthony TOURNY

JANUARY 14 - Congratulations to Mike McGill, Josh Logiudice and the entire Guilderland Wrestling team, who placed 2nd at the Mt. Anthony Union Tournament this past weekend.  The Dutchmen trailed only the host-team, 26-time Vermont state champions, while McGill and Logiudice picked up individual championship titles. 

SARATOGA TOURNY

JANUARY 9 - Senior Nick Haluska and Sophomore Josh Loguidice lead Guiderland to a 4th place finish at the Saratoga Tournament this past weekend.  Click HERE for Tournament Results. 

ALUMNI NIGHT

JANUARY 5 - Guilderland outlasts Suburban Council Rival, Averill Park, 36-34 on Alumni Night, winning 8 of 14 matches.  Thanks to all of the fans and Alumni who attended the event!  Your support is greatly appreciate.  Click HERE for match details.

KEN HAINES MEMORIAL

DECEMBER 28 - Guilderland traveled to Oswego State for the annual Ken Haines Memorial Tournament, hosted by Fulton Wrestling.  The Dutchmen improved on their position from last season, finishing tenth, and placing several in the top 8.  Click HERE for Tournament Results.

MOHONASEN DUAL

DECEMBER 14 - Visiting Mohonasen scored a league victory in the East Gym tonight, in a match that went to the wire.  Click HERE for match details and summary.

Duanesburg Tourney

DECEMBER 10 - Guilderland goes 4 - 1 at the Duanesburg Duals, taking home second place hardware for the Dutchmen.  The team's lone loss was to Section III's Holland Patent, who picked up 18 points due to forfeits.  Click HERE for tournament results.

COLUMBIA DUAL

DECEMBER 8 - Guilderland had little to celebrate this past Wednesday after dropping a  66 - 9 away loss to Columbia.  The Blue Devils, returning numerous starters from last year's squad, including Section II champion Evan Wallace and Northwestern-bound Matt Greene, will look to contend with perennial Section II powerhouse Shenendehowa at season's end.
The Dutchmen picked up wins from Josh Logiudice, who scored a fall late in the second period, and first-year Varsity 106-pounder, Zach Alloush, who collected a 9 - 4 decision victory. 
Guiderland next sees action on Saturday, December 10th, at the Duanesburg Duals. 

Home Opener

  DECEMBER 2 - The Dutchmen opened their season last night with a 27 - 44 home defeat against Colonie.  Click HERE for details.  Our next match is Wednesday, December 7 at Columbia.  Our next home event is December 14th against Mohonasen.
